About Us
KOAM-TV and FOX 14 launched 4-State Heroes in 2005. The stations humbly honor the men and women in the area that have
served, or are serving, in the Armed Forces of the United States.
FOX 14 General Manager Darren Dishman said "many of our heroes are citizen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who
lived on the farms and cities of the 4-States, and left home and loved ones behind to serve our country. They are ordinary
people who were inspired to defend our country in extraordinary ways. We have developed this living archive to honor their
sacrifices and their courage. '4-State Heroes' allow all generations, young and old, to learn of the sacrifices area men and
women have made for our freedom, heroes who should never be forgotten."
KOAM-TV President & General Manager Danny Thomas explained "once the nomination & photo are received the heroes are honored
during one of the stations’ newscasts and are part of a website dedicated to our 4-State Heroes. In a perfect world we would
like to have each and every serviceman & woman from our area honored on the website. The site can then be used as a database
for all people to search, discover & remember our veterans."
